The Catch 15/01/2020

Hello! Welcome to the latest issue of "The Catch", published fortnightly (or thereabouts)

for Nassau's best rowing club.

Happy New Year!

Thank you for welcoming 2020 with us. We are so excited to have resumed our regular schedule, and the lake is packed! Anyone interested in learning more about Nassau Rowing Club, or rowing in general, is always welcome to sit in or ride along on a practice.

Masters, Juniors, CR Walker, Lyford Cay International School, and Youth and Adult Learn to Row are all back on the water.

Leisure members are out rowing, and NRC is hosting a group of visiting masters from Seattle, WA!

Thank you to our 2019 sponsors! Nassau RC would not be where we are today without your support.

Rowing In Paradise

It's not just a hashtag on Instagram. Nassau, and The Bahamas in general have always been a tourist destination. With the growth of Nassau RC, we have been able to offer our boats to international clubs and their coaches, to run winter rowing camps.

Over the holidays, Jon Kawaja and his son Alex came down for a week with their family. They were able to get some water time in, but Alex also trained on the erg when the conditions were too rough. Mr Kawaja generously donated the erg to Nassau RC. Thank you Jon for your gift! We appreciate it, although the juniors may disagree after the 2k test this week. Please come visit any time!

Welcome to Pocock Rowing Center!

Pocock Rowing Center, from Seattle, Washington, USA, will also be running a masters camp this Saturday through Tuesday.

Coach Coree Naslund and a group of 8 rowers looking to escape the cold and snow will be rowing twice a day, taking a yoga class, and sightseeing on our beautiful island. Please say hello if you see an unfamiliar face and make a new friend.

All classes will run as usual, with the exception of Juniors Saturday practice. This will be a land day, 2k makeup, or community service opportunity.

Learn to Row - Winter session - has begun

We welcomed 9 new rowers to the Winter Adult Learn to Row and 4 to the Youth class!

The Saturday Adult class is full, and we are now signing up people for the Spring session, which begins in April.

There is still space in the Saturday youth class, which also welcomes CR Walker rowers looking to row a 3rd day.

Save the Date!

Saturday, February 1st, 2020.
