The Catch 26/11/19

November 27, 2019

Hello!  Welcome to the latest issue of "The Catch", published fortnightly for Nassau's best rowing club.

Trivia Night Winners

Thank you to all who came out and supported Trivia Night at the Poop Deck! We had ample donations of holiday cheer, and each team took home a prize. Pictured here are the top three teams.

In first place was Team Aqua, comprised of former and current board members, family, and friends of Nassau RC.  This team had a notable round where they answered 8/8 questions correctly.  Bravo!

Second place winners, Team "Row, row, row your boat", representing Windsor School had strong Canadian roots and was able to name all 13 provinces and territories!

And local favorites, "Team Bow Wow" from Queens College faculty, placed third.

It was a lovely evening, and all proceeds will go towards new equipment for our growing club.  Hope to see you at the next one!

Getting Jolly at Jollification

Nassau RC Juniors participated in an ERGathon fundraiser to help offset the cost of regatta travel, for those who may wish to compete, but need help getting there.

We (and members of the community) rowed 70,826m on Saturday and 62,012m on Sunday, for a total of 132,838 meters!!!

This is the equivalent of rowing nearly two loops around New Providence! Or from Nassau to Castaway Cay in Abaco, or the Southern tip of Eleuthera!

Thank you to our Masters members Tina, Kathryn, Aidie, Cynthia, and Danielle, who helped (wo)man the table, and of course, to the parents who provided support.

Special thanks to the Chea and Stanhope families for lending their ergs.

See you next year for Jollification 2020!
