The Catch 24/06/19

Hello! Welcome to the latest issue of "The Catch", published fortnightly

for Nassau's best rowing club.

Summer is HERE!

Welcome Summer! Please note the schedule changes beginning this week:

Masters Team: Tuesday / Thursday 6:30 - 8 AM, Saturday 7 - 8:30 AM

Juniors Team: Tuesday / Thursday 6:30 - 8 AM, Saturday 7 - 8:30 AM

Masters Learn to Row: Saturday 8:30 - 10 AM

Summer Camp Week One

Nassau RC welcomed 7 new campers to Lake Cunningham, and our first three Youth Leaders of the summer. The consensus was that this group has a great attitude and willingness to learn, and they are also quick to pick up vocabulary and rowing skills!

We are still enrolling for July! If your 11 - 17 year old wants to learn a new skill, this is the time!

Family discounts and financial assistance is available for those who qualify.

Trivia Night, Round Two!

A huge "Thank You" to the Green Parrot and staff for hosting Nassau Rowing Club's second trivia night this year! We are always glad to see our local trivia community out and about to support the many non-profits here on the island. Congratulations to the winning team (made up of teachers from Queens College). They won some NRC swag, wine, and a private lesson with Coach KariAnne!

We feel that all teams were winners, and everyone left with an NRC car magnet - new and larger size! Thank you to Lori Thompson-Karabas for donating a gift certificate to your jewelry store. See you all in September, trivia buffs!

Congratulations to our Learn To Row Grads

Well done, ladies! Five women completed the Spring Adult LTR class on Saturday, and were rewarded with a row in the new Hudson 4x to the end of the lake!

We look forward to having you join us through the summer to keep those skills fresh. Pictured here, Aidie and Kathryn join the group for a mixed masters row last Saturday.

It was a pleasure to meet everyone; thank you for allowing me to bring the joy of rowing into your lives.

~ Coach KariAnne

Summer Rowing for College Students

Are you home for the summer? Only working part time or not at all? Come train at Nassau Rowing Club! Access to the lake and our facilities for the price of a recreational membership!

Bahamas Olympic Committee Meet and Greet

Thank you to the BOC for inviting Nassau Rowing Club to Media Day, along with the other Bahamas Sports Federations.

It's always a pleasure to chat with fellow coaches, athletes, doctors, and educators.

We are a small country but full of so much talent!

Please continue to support other sports in the quest to make the Bahamas a leader in athletics on the world stage.
